About Me

Jill J. Galloway is an artist, art enrichment lecturer, and gallery curator whose career sits at the intersection of creative practice, scholarly inquiry, and the professional art market. As an artist working under the name JJ Galloway, she is internationally collected for her whimsical paintings and sculptures of people, animals, and food — works executed in oils, watercolors, and mixed media that bring traditional technique and genuine wit to collections worldwide. As the founder of JJ Contemporary Atelier, she curates a select co-operative of accomplished artists, representing them at premier art fairs across the United States and internationally. And as a lecturer, she brings the history, business, and enduring power of art to audiences at the Smithsonian Institution and aboard boutique cruise ships, where her enrichment programs have earned a devoted following among culturally curious travelers.

Driven by passion

Her path to this uncommon career began with a dual degree in Fine Art and Marketing, followed by a decade in public relations that took her from the newsroom as a stringer for CBS News to the executive offices of the National Aquarium in Baltimore and a seat on the board of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association. It was there that her deep appreciation for the natural world took root — the same appreciation that now animates her most celebrated body of work, in which animals wear their meals like culinary crowns and every painting arrives with a smile.

Jill J. Galloway is, in the most literal sense, a woman who turned everything she has ever loved into a career.
