Hans in the Park
This is one of the first paintings in a new series of pigeons on sculptures. The best part of this series is it gives me a chance to jump back into my portraiture practice and I get to tell a bigger story with my pigeon art. Hans Christian Anderson wrote two of my favorite children’s books, The Ugly Duckling and The Emperor's New Clothes. The pigeons in this painting first tried to but that paper cone on his nose like a duck beak but it wouldn’t stay on so they put in on his head like an emperor’s crown.
